6 Sports Two-A-Days: Heritage Conference
JOHNSTOWN — The United Lions are coming off an impressive 2018 playoff run. The Lions reached the PIAA state quarterfinals, while in the midst of a 7-game winning streak. But, United is faced with the task of replacing 14 starters from last year's team. Head Coach Kevin Marabito knows that his squad will have to stay healthy because of the Lions' limited depth.
Northern Cambria had a solid 2018, posting a 9-3 record. The Colts made it all the way to the PIAA state playoffs. Like most high school teams, Northern Cambria will have to replace half of the starters from last year's team. Head Coach Sam Shutty thinks he has a good group of players, for this year's team. It's all about getting them to play as a unit.
Ligonier Valley is the class of the Heritage Conference. The Rams have won the league the last three seasons. Head Coach Roger Beitel will depend on his offensive and defensive lines. Those units are loaded with collegiate prospects.
