Cambria County business hosts vaccination event
A Cambria County business brought blood pressure screenings and vaccinations to the community Wednesday.
Best Way Pizza in Ebensburg hosted the event.
Different vaccinations provided included tetanus, COVID, pneumonia and shingles shots.
Nicole Dixon is the clinical pharmacist at Community Pharmacy in Tyrone, and she said they're also offering a new RSV vaccine.
Dixon said it's important to get vaccinated not only to protect yourself, but others as well.
Dixon said, "The more of us that are vaccinated, that protects also the people that can't get the vaccines; whether it be due to allergic reactions or the way their body makeup is; they physically just cannot receive the vaccines. So, it's everybody else's responsibility to get the vaccines so we can protect them as well."
She said it's important to stay up to date on your vaccines as you age.
