A local high-school grad is transforming the world of powerlifting into a safe-space for women. Jamie Augustine is only 18 years old but already a world powerlifting champion and more recently a gym-owner. She opened NaturalFit LLC just 7 weeks ago and is already seeing success due to her unique business model. Her mission is to create an environment that focuses on establishing a supportive community of women that help each other reach their fitness goals.
If you're in downtown Johnstown, you may notice something new near Main Street. Balance Restaurant is now able to use its courtyard space for winter dining as well as summer. Owner Amanda Artim says she did some research and came up with the idea to bring in "igloos" for a change in atmosphere. There are two available, each seating eight, and equipped with heating and blankets to make sure guests stay comfortable when sitting outside, and Thursday is the first night they are officially open to the public with one group already reserved.
State College, PA (WJAC) — It's back to court for a group of parents in the State College Area School District who have now filed an amended federal lawsuit over Title IX issues related to a school district's hockey team for female students. The amended lawsuit follows a judge's ruling last December that the State College Area School District violated Title IX regulations, and ordered the district to include female players on a club hockey team that the school district is associated with.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State's star defensive-back Joey Porter Jr. announced on social media Wednesday that he is opting out of the Nittany Lions' bowl game this season and will declare for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. Porter Jr. played in 10 games this season for the Nittany Lions, recording 21 solo tackles, 11 passes defended and one fumble recovery. The redshirt junior is expected to be a high-end draft pick in 2023.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Bellefonte man is facing charges after he was accused of exposing himself to others inside a bathroom at the Nittany Mall in State College. Police say on Feb. 17, officers were dispatched to the mall for reports that a male was exposing himself inside the public restroom. According to the affidavit, one witness reportedly told police that he had entered one of the bathroom stalls, and closed it, at which time the suspect reportedly stuck his genitalia through the "

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa — A report from the Humane Society trying to educate people on where they get their puppies. It’s called the “Horrible Hundred” and it is working to shine a light on the conditions dogs are forced to live through. CBS 21 took a closer look at the report and the six Central PA kennels listed. The report names one-hundred “so-called” problematic breeders and sellers. It looks at State Kennel Inspection records, if a breeder has been fined, and consumer complaints.
