SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Somerset County man is facing assault charges after he allegedly attacked his employer with a crowbar.
Police say on Monday, 60-year-old Christopher Dayton reportedly went to Petrunak’s Store, in Windber, looking for work.
Officials say when Dayton was told there was no work, he reportedly became violent, striking the store owner with a crowbar and then choking him on the ground.
Police say after the attack, Dayton also reportedly damaged store displays and threatened an elderly customer.
Authorities say a 42-year-old Altoona man has been charged with allegedly raping a woman at her home in March.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, the woman told authorities that she was at the Kettle Inn Bar and Grill in Altoona, on March 18, when Robert German, and another man, joined her and her friends.
The woman told police that she remembered buying a round of drinks for the group and started to sense that something was off with the encounter, according to the affidavit.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Columbus police officer's cruiser dash camera captured the moments police caught up with a suspect accused of opening fire in an Amazon facility and taking off. The video shows police boxing in the suspect's car. The suspect gets out of the driver's seat and starts firing at officers. The footage then shows officers firing back, hitting the suspect. One Columbus police officer was also shot during the exchange.

Andy Mast of Jefferson County, PA spotted a rare pink grasshopper in his yard right before cutting his grass.
Luckily, Mast says his 9-year-old daughter stopped him from mowing so that she could show him the amazing find.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — The president of Penn State is getting a 2.5% salary increase and trustees are making it retroactive to the beginning of July.
The Board of Trustees on Friday voted unanimously to boost Eric Barron's base pay to $855,000 a year.
He's been Penn State's top administrator since 2014.
The Centre Daily Times says that together with an annual retention bonus of $200,000, Barron will be paid more than $1 million.

Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, went missing on March 30 after driving from Kansas to Oklahoma to pick up Butler's children for a birthday party.
On April 14, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation excavated a possible burial site, 8.5 miles from where Butler’s car was found abandoned.
