Parents of Penn State student Timothy Piazza continue motion to resolve ongoing civil suit

State College, PA (WJAC) — It has been over five years since Penn State student Timothy Piazza died after an alcohol fueled hazing event at a university fraternity.
His death sparked new hazing legislation, along with a nationwide awareness campaign, but a civil suit filed by his parents has still not been resolved.
Earlier this week, in federal court, James and Evelyn Piazza asked a judge for a ruling that could end a years-long delay in their wrongful death suit.

BOGGS TOWNSHIP - A former Boggs Township employee in Clearfield County has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the township and two of its supervisors, claiming she was fired for reporting misconduct by one of the supervisors.
Denise Dobo and her attorney filed the suit Jan. 22, a couple weeks after supervisors Rickey Droll Jr. and Russell Jackson terminated her employment as the township secretary and treasurer.
Dobo said in the suit that she was fired because she reported to fellow supervisor Bill Dickson, the township solicitor and the state ethics commission that she believed Droll misused township funds by using them to buy car parts at a Napa store.
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Officials with the Pittsburgh Sports Museum announced that the four Super Bowl rings that once belonged to late Steelers' running-back Franco Harris are now on display at the museum.
Museum staff says that the rings, along with Harris' Hall of Fame ring, will now be featured as part of the "Super Steelers" exhibit. “As we continue to remember the remarkable life of Franco Harris, we thank his wife Dana and son Dok for sharing these important artifacts with the community,” said Anne Madarasz, director of the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum.
HASTINGS, Pa. (WJAC) — Hundreds of people came out on Wednesday for the Staint Bernard Food Pantry's Free Milk and Fruit Drive.
From before 9 AM until about 12:30 PM on Wednesday. 405 cars lined up along Huber Road and adjacent ones to get their milk and other treats, like grapes and nuts.
This year, the drive has gone a little differently due to coronavirus. The food pantry asked people to remain in their cars while over 60 volunteers helped place milk and food in their backseat or trunk.
UNDATED (WKRC) - A TikToker claimed an Airbnb host charged her around $924 for using the pool table, the television and other things around the property.
According to The Daily Dot, a video was posted to TikTok on May 8, in which a woman, identified by the outlet as Joanna Anderson, is heard negotiating with her Airbnb host. “So I’m here at this nice Airbnb, but it’s not so nice, because there’s notes everywhere,” Joanna Anderson says in the video, which eventually went viral and has been viewed over 11 million times.
Windber Community Building overcomes fire, Winter Wine Fest & fitness classes still held

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — After a municipal building in Somerset County was damaged by a fire last month, their employees want the public to know that they're back "open for business."
The Windber Community Building is home to fitness classes, sporting events, and community traditions.

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Blair County say an Altoona woman is behind bars after an animal cruelty investigation led to the discovery of multiple dead ferrets that she had reportedly stolen from another individual.
Police say 24-year-old Mary-Jayda Patterson faces multiple counts of aggravated cruelty to animals-torture, as well as charges of criminal mischief, theft and animal cruelty.
