CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — Friday was the opening night of the Grange Fair in Centre County, which included the opening ceremony, truck pulling, an animal dressing contest, line dancing and much more.
The Grange Fair runs through next Saturday.
This year's Grange Fair queen is State College Area high school student Mattee Stoicheff, who was crowned on Wednesday at the fairgrounds in Centre Hall.
She has been coming to the fair since she was an infant and her family has had a tent at the fair for many years.
WOODBURY, Pa. (WJAC) — One person is dead after a massive fire Sunday night at a post office in Bedford County, according to county coroner Rusty Styer.
Residents in the area tell 6 News that the post office in Woodbury Borough along the 100 block of Main Street also had apartment buildings. Styer says they found the deceased was found on the first floor of the building and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday July 5th.

Authorities with the state attorney general's office say the man who escaped from the Warren County Jail over the summer has been sentenced to decades behind bars.
Michael Burham was ordered to serve an aggregate sentence of 25 years and two months to 50 years and four months in prison.

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. — A Blair County man is dead after being thrown from his motorcycle in Bedford County Saturday evening around 9:30, state police say.
According to a press release, Lowell Musselman, 47, was traveling west on Helsel Road in Kimmel Township when he attempted to negotiate a slight right curve.
State police say Musselman's motorcycle began to turn on it's right side as it began to exit the southern edge of the road.
HUNTINGDON CO, Pa (WJAC) — There are new welcome signs in Petersburg, Huntingdon County, that were put up by volunteers over the weekend.
One sign is located on the north side of town, just south of the Juniata Valley Center, while the other one can be found on the west end of town by the Shavers Creek Bridge.
The signs are in memory of two Juniata Valley area educators, with roots in Petersburg Borough, Sara Kocher-LaPorte and James Davis.
Earlier this week, the Somerset County Farmer's Market announced it would be shutting down, but just a few days later there is optimism the market will be back.
The farmers’ market was a staple in the community for 17 years.
Somerset resident Art Holme said, “Farmers markets are notorious for bringing people together, offering people just a fun outing so they're great for family.”
Local business owner Meagan Richter is even willing to have a mini farmers’ market of her own on the covered porch at her business, Heirloom Pines Custom Bakery and Coffee Shop.

Democratic representative accused of pulling fire alarm near Capitol to delay funding vote

WASHINGTON (TND) — A congressman from New York is being accused of bad behavior before the House voted on the funding bill to keep federal agencies open. An investigation is already underway and there are calls for prosecution.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., pulled the alarm in a Capitol office building.
The GOP-controlled House Administration Committee, which oversees issues pertaining to the Capitol complex, posted a picture from the U.S. Capitol Police showing a man pulling the fire alarm who appeared to be Bowman.
