Sandusky's latest appeal to the state Superior Court is in response to a ruling made last summer in his case, a ruling that basically sides with prosecutors, the attorney general’s office, in denying Sandusky a new hearing. Sandusky's attorneys say evidence that came to light after his conviction points to his accusers being coached by therapists and attorneys to claim they were abused in what’s termed “repressed memory.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Pennsylvania man who authorities say killed his girlfriend in a Nevada desert has been convicted. A jury in U.S. District Court in Nevada on Wednesday found John Matthew Chapman, 44, guilty of one count of kidnapping resulting in death, court records show. He faces life in prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled for Aug. 2. Authorities did not release the woman's name. They say that after killing her in September 2019, Chapman pretended to be her on her Facebook messenger account and lived at her residence.
On Friday, Penn State hosted a pep rally for all fans and alumni in Atlanta for Saturday’s Peach Bowl. The event was free to hundreds of Nittany Lions supporters. The band, cheerleaders, and dancers also performed for the crowd. Officials say tickets are sold out for Saturday’s bowl game. 6 News spoke to a Penn State graduate about the atmosphere in Atlanta this week. CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A 19-year-old in California had the FBI tracking him down, after officials say he made numerous "swatting" calls in Central PA. According to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Newville, Big Spring High School was evacuated on Nov. 30 for a reported bomb threat. After authorities investigated the scene, they luckily found no credible threat on the school's grounds. Suspended Dubois City Manager Herm Suplizio has officially been fired. During a reorganizational meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Dubois City Council voted 3 to 2 to terminate Suplizio from the post. Council members James Aughenbaugh and Shane Dietz cast the dissenting votes. Suplizio faces a variety of charges related to the alleged embezzlement of more than half-a-million dollars from the city. In November, Suplizio and a fellow city employee were federally indicted following an investigation into allegations that the two conspired to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from city funds.
ALTOONA, Pa — The Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Officers released the latest information on local violations and warnings during coronavirus mitigation efforts for licensee's. Officers visited 1,262 licensed liquor establishments from Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2. On July 15, Governor Tom Wolf signed an executive order requiring new rules and regulations for bars and restaurants. Alcohol must not be served without a meal, and restaurants and bars are only expected to operate at just 25% capacity.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — A federal sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former Penn State fencer against the university has been dismissed. The judge, however, has left the door open for the complainant, Zara Moss, to refile the suit. Moss claims that suspended fencing coach Wes Glon was abusive to her and other female fencers on the Penn State squad and that the university was in violation of Title IX regulations.
