WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WJAC) — A fire that broke out at a Lycoming County recycling facility has been burning since Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
According to NBC affiliate WBRE, the fire began at the Penn Recycling plant in Williamsport sometime around 2:30 p.m. Fire crews were reported to still be fighting the flames into Tuesday afternoon.
The flames broke out in a debris pile of old car parts. According to WBRE, the pile is four stories high and about the size of a football field.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Crews were on the scene of a house collapse in Pittsburgh Friday morning.
No injuries were reported, and officials haven’t said if anyone was home when the house collapsed.
NBC affiliate WPXI, reports the collapse happened on Semicir Street.
Authorities later confirmed the collapse was caused by a landslide.
Video of the scene shows a ravine between the street and the front lawn of the home.
According to local reports, that road has had issues from landslides before.
PLAINS, Pa. (AP) — State police shot and killed a man who struck a trooper with his pickup truck and then crashed into a police sport utility vehicle after an altercation at a northeastern Pennsylvania bar, authorities said.

EVERETT, Wash. (KATU) — A 4-year-old who was reported missing under "suspicious circumstances" was found dead earlier this week, and his mother is charged with his murder.
The paper trail KATU unearthed began Monday, when Ariel Garcia's grandmother, Maria Garcia, filed a petition for guardianship of Ariel.
She wrote that her daughter Janet's “behavior had become very violent and unpredictable,” and that she “has a long history of alcohol and substance use that has gotten worse in the last months.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Johnstown police say a local man is behind bars following an investigation into accusations that he repeatedly raped a young girl for several years.
Police say in December, officers interviewed the victim, who stated that she had been sexually assaulted by 49-year-old Bryan Miller.
According to the affidavit, police say the victim told officers that the alleged sexual abuse began sometime when she was between the ages of 6 and 8, and ended when she was approximately 15 years old.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the spotted lanternfly is a planthopper that’s native to east Asia. It was first discovered in PA in Berks County in 2014. Since then, it’s wreaked havoc on the local environment as well as the economy. An economic impact study conducted by the state in 2019 estimated that, uncontrolled, the spotted lanternfly could have cost the state $324 million annually and impacted thousands of jobs.
