Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Fame radio broadcaster Mike Lange says he will NOT be in the booth for the start of the upcoming season, out of an abundance of caution due to the pandemic, according to a team release. 'I've decided to opt out of the start of the season after huddling with doctors about the course of Covid-19," said Lange, who will turn 73 in March.
ALTOONA -- Archway Ministries in Altoona is closed this week with a "condemned" sign on the door. The church's food bank serves more than 100 people monthly, but pastor and building owner Louis Grillo said that service is put on hold. During an inspection, officers found evidence of rats and mice throughout the building and food pantry, according to City Code Enforcement Director Rebecca Brown. "There is an infestation problem," she said.
BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — Charges have been filed against two Beaver County individuals after human remains were identified as a woman who went missing in 2022, state police said. According to a press release, state police were requested by the Aliquippa Police Department April 18 just before noon to respond to the 100 block of 5th Avenue after human remains were found inside an abandoned building. State police said that the remains were eventually identified as 24-year-old Ri'Kiah Griffie, who had been missing since 2022.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Police say a Woodland man was on drugs during a road rage incident where he rammed his vehicle into a woman’s vehicle in a Long John Silver’s parking lot before getting out and attacking her. According to Lawrence Township Police, officers received a call from a driver who said and aggressive driver was tailgating her Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Police say the caller pulled into the parking lot of Long John Silver’s, along Daisy Street, to get help, but the other driver, later identified as 36-year-old Robert Roach, followed her into the parking lot.
A 21-year-old University of Pennsylvania student with a heart condition died after reportedly drinking Panera Bread's new “charged lemonade” drink. A large cup contains more caffeine than cans of Red Bull and Monster Energy drinks combined, according to the lawsuit. The suit was filed on behalf of the New Jersey parents of Sarah Katz. The legal complaint, which was filed Monday, calls the beverage a “dangerous energy drink" and argues that Panera failed to appropriately warn consumers about its ingredients.

Properties that are two years behind on property taxes are put into the tax sale system, where people can buy them for much cheaper than usual. For instance, at a private sale, which happens four times a year, people buy properties for as little as $200, although they still owe any back taxes in mortgages.
Laurel Hill State Park is not accepting new arrivals to its campground because the conditions are unsafe after a storm knocked over trees, light polls, and power lines Thursday night park officials said. They said it is not known right now how long the campground will be closed. "Making sure that our campground is safe for visitors is our number one priority right now," Assistant Park Manager Kelsey Hope said. "
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — The creators of marshmallow Peeps are offering a first-ever peep inside their Pennsylvania candy factory. Just Born Quality Confections company in Bethlehem is teaming up with the United Way on a sweepstakes. The grand prize is a behind-the-scenes tour of the factory, which has never been open to the public. The contest lets people across the country donate $5 to the United Way of Greater Lehigh Valley for a chance to visit the factory.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A fire destroyed the Hardee's restaurant in Breezewood Saturday. Breezewood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Toby Colledge said the broiler caught fire, and flames went through the ventilation equipment and up to the roof. Colledge said by the time enough manpower was able to arrive on the scene, much of the roof was already ablaze. It took about an hour to get the fire under control, and crews were on scene for several hours putting out hot spots.
