Road closed for several hours for vehicle crash that knocked down power lines in Richland

Fire officials in Richland Township confirmed to 6 News that Theatre Drive was closed for several hours Tuesday evening following a single-vehicle crash that knocked down power lines.

Authorities say crews responded to the crash around 5 p.m. and discovered the driver of the vehicle trapped inside the car due to the live wires.

Fire officials say the driver was stuck in the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes until crews were able to safely remove the wires.

Authorities say the roadway remained closed well into the early morning hours of Wednesday.

No injuries were reported in the crash and the cause is still under investigation.

Cambria County emergency officials are asking the public to avoid the area after a crash on Theatre Drive in Richland Township Tuesday evening.

They say the crash happened on the 400 block of Theatre Drive around 5 p.m.

The crash did knock down live wires and the road has been shut down.

Power is out in nearby areas.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area of Walmart and Hoss's.

It’s unclear what caused the crash, how many vehicles were involved or whether anyone was injured.
